Well, the people of the Jersey Shore where I live went through an earthquake (which never happens here!) and a hurricane (which never happens here!) recently and even though we had a beautiful week of weather right afterwards we all of a sudden woke up and it was Autumn!!!  How did that happen!?  The weather is cool, the kids are back at school and I'm cooking chili for dinner.  To me that all spells Fall!  I also painted this over the last couple of days and it is certainly something I would NEVER paint during the summer. So........I ask again......how did that happen????

This Girls Stuff Update

I have always been rather sentimental about things. I own quite a few antiques that have been in my family for generations and are on display in my home. I love looking at them every day and having them as part of my life however there are some things that are tucked away and never seen or interacted with. These are the things that I am ready to part with. I believe they could be in better hands than mine in the form of a collector or someone who loves to sew.

I have an old tin that is full of my Grandmother's buttons. I love them. I remember playing with them as a little girl and it brings back great memories. My mother then inherited them when Grandma died and then I got the tin when my parents moved to a much smaller home.

I love them but I have looked at them maybe once in the eight years they have been living with me. It seems such a shame and that is why I have decided to part with them...at least some of them. I honestly can't look at any of them and say I remember any particular one from my childhood, I just remember them as part of my childhood. I put aside a few favorite ones for me and also some for the little girl next door who announced to her mother the other day that she wants to start a collection buttons but other than that.....they are for sale.

So please peruse my beautiful collection of buttons that were handed down from my Grandmother to my Mother to me. There's alotta buttons so come back often!!

This Girls Stuff

OK...I did it. I just opened my second Etsy shop. No, this one is not for my art, it is for the *stuff* I've got up in the attic that I no longer want or need and that Etsy considers "vintage". My moto for this shop is "Stuff I've loved in the past can be yours to love in the future". Pretty good, huh?

I really don't have time to be doing this kind of thing but thought it would be a way to supplement our income while my husband has Rotator Cuff surgery this winter. We will see.....plus, I can get rid of my *stuff*.

Etsy considers "vintage" anything over 20 years old. It's pretty depressing to think that a lot of what I own is "vintage"! It's official...I am old. Or "vintage".

Step by step....The birth of a watercolor

I love watching the process that artists go through to create a painting so I thought I would share with you the step by step of my latest watercolor painting. It's called "Sitting Pretty" and it's available in my Etsy shop.
